We were busy in 2024-2025 and have big plans for the future.
Tuffy's Closet
Tuffy's is the official online student store of HRV. We sell student favorites such as t-shirts, hoodies, waterbottles, and sweatpants. All proceeds go to fund business education.
Business in the Gorge Slack Workspace
Our Slack workspace has topics relevant to business leaders in the Gorge, including hospitality, entrepreneurship, and marketing. The space also gives business leaders and students and opportunity to collaborate and build relationships. Blending youth and experience gives us diverse ways to help all be more successful.
Business Club Friday's
The HRV Business Club meets every Friday from 9:50-10:20 at HRVHS. We talk about interesting business topics, give high impact mini business lessons, host guests, and strategize about club growth.
We also get together more informally for lunch on Fridays.
Externships
Externships are unpaid opportunities for students to do job shadowing and observe a company's day to day operations. They must primarily benefit the student and not be a job replacement.
Lift Off matches students with business externships. Students are onsite for a half day 2-3 times per week.
Internships
Internships are operated through Lift Off's unique model. Lift Off functions as a full service staffing agency, handling all HR paperwork and acting as the student's employer. Lift Off supplies a co-manager to assist companies with student work supervision and development. Companies contract directly with Lift Off for a job placement. This is usually a half day every week or a full day on alternating weekdays. Summers are also available.
This gives employers educated, motivated young talent to perform work at a lower price point that a typical hire. If things don't work out, students are moved to a better fit without any awkward moments or termination paperwork.
Community Business Events
We hold 2-3 events per school year in the community. Usually these combine a business enrichment experience with some fun- such as food and a Gorge relevent activity.

Please note that Lift Off, an Oregon nonprofit limited liability corporation, applied for 501(c)(3) tax exempt status with the IRS on February 23, 2025. Our application remains pending due to the IRS backlog. We anticipate being granted tax exempt status, but cannot promise this to any donors.
